Reflection : Everyone Are Not Who They Seem ...

During my first school year of high school, I've learned that some of the people that you meet and think you are going to be friends with for the rest of your high school experience seems to be false. Everyone are not who they may seem to be. In high school, some of your closest friends will become one of your worsts enemies. You never know who will become your enemy, in high school you'll always should just prepare for the worst. In high school you'll come across people that are fake, manipulative, jealous, and either spread bad rumors about you. During this time I've learned not to trust everyone and you are your own friend. At the end of middle school I thought everyone was loyal and trustworthy, high school showed me otherwise.

Broadcasting a World of Whiteness ..

This article is based on the second episode of a HBO show that airs on Sundays called "Girls". It tells how on a scene after the two cast member named Hannah, played by Lena Dunham and her non boyfriend Adam (Adam Driver) have sex, once they're finished he made a comment promising he"s going to make the "continent of Africa on" Hanna's arm. Also a remark from another cast member saying "I want to have children with many different men, of different races." As you can notice its saying alot of racial slurs throughout the episode. On the show "Girls" it pointed out that its a range of women on television that lacks forms of diversity. Many HBO producers have made an hypothesis that "Girls" will most likely make it off of the channel, just like another show called "How to Make It i America" for being dull, not enough of diversity and lack of viewers. People also believe that if the show have another opportunity to have a second season, the viewers that wants to watch the show and giving their opinions on how to make the show better, the producers will take another look into how the show is set up and will consider changing it, which would give it more of a diverse audience. Personally, I don't the show and never heard of it but this article has informed me about it. Which I agree with the viewers that says they will be more interested if they have a diverse cast.

Heat vs Pacers : Playoff Game

In this season of playoffs the challenge is for the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers. After beating out several different teams the two who battled out together for the championship ring are now competing again. With all-stars like Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh (the Big 3) the team ranking #2 seed in the NBA. Being known for their defensive ability, running fast plays, and making almost every shot, the Miami Heat have been able to have 46 wins and 20 loses. But of course the playoffs are not easy, having the very young Indiana Pacers team with leader Danny Granger who average 21 points per game have led his team to win 2 games against the Miami Heat. Having players such as David West, Roy Hibbert, Darren Colison and Tyler Hansbrough who's capable of making points, rebounding and running plays have set up a hard challenge for the Heat, with high tempers and multiple flagrant fouls giving to players it haven't stopped yet. Game 6 will be on Thursday night (May 24) where the Heat lead 3-2 over the Pacers. In my opinion, I think the two competing against each other is great entertainment since I love both teams. So whether which ever team lose, I still win a chance to have on of my teams in the NBA Finals.

Gun Fashion

In this article "New Fashion Wrinkle: Stylishly Hiding the Gun" it tells about how a company has designed a chino, which is a second pocket behind the traditional front pocket for holding a handgun. It tells how ranks went from around seven million last year from five million in 2008 because of the changes to state laws on concealed handguns. It included that the latest styles are called "concealed carry" or convert fashion". Most clothes have to comfortable when fitting someone, with this vest its water resistant, that is standard and trendy but has strategic pockets for guns. Also including that a compartment in front so the wearer can appear to be warming his hands while actually gripping the pistol in a waistband holster. Also in the article it tells how 37 states have "shall issue" which requires them to provide concealed- carry permits if the applicant meets legal requirements, which is not being a felon. Mr. Lott, a gun expert, says that majority of states have long allowed the open carrying of handguns. In my opinion, I think companies should have not designed clothing that allows people to carry handguns. My reason is because that would give people the right to carry a gun, which would leave to more deaths and deaths are slowly killing our society.

Health Fair

Here at Parkway West on April 12th, 2012 there was a Health Fair. Health Fair are usually places where they provide students participated in a health fair to provide young teens to gather information in pan flicks about helping your body and staying protected such as providing condoms for teens to always stay protected when sexually active or thinking about being sexually active, they'll be prepared. Also hand outs about women and men health and taking care of their bodies and also hand outs about diseases such as HIV/Aids, gonorrhea and other STDs. Freshman Seglinda Harrison, helped working the health fair, she says "It was interesting, alot of information about health, eating healthy, sex, abortions and free things."She also included "It was fun, but other students that was helping was annoying and one of the health teachers played game dealing with healthy characteristics."In my opinion the health fair gave us a chance to know about our bodies which alot of people don't know about and the health fair gave opportunities to learn about it different things that if we don't take care of it now it'll effect us in the future.

I'm a criminal .. and so are you

This article is about a author named Michelle Alexander, she wrote an article about herself going around calling herself a criminal. But its not the kind of criminal that goes to jail for killing someone, sexually assaulting or buying illegal drugs. The article focuses on her saying that being a criminal can be anything. Such as, driving over a speed limit, taking candy or money from someones purse or anything else. For example, she includes "Perhaps there should be a box on the census form that says "I'm a criminal.""Everyone who has ever committed a crime would be required to check it." Concluding, that " maybe we, as a nation, would second-guess our apparent zeal for denying full citizenship to those branded felons." My opinion, of this article is that its interesting. It makes a good point about everyone is a criminal, that you don't have to necessarily commit a felony, but just something small as getting a traffic ticket is acts of a criminal.
